This week in Santa Ana, the Orange County district attorney has filed charges accusing a man of sexually assault on two young girls. Apparently the man, David Elifar Verduzco, 32, met the family of the victim’s through their church. The victims are 9 and 12 years of age.
Verduzco was charged on Tuesday with three felony counts of sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger, lewd acts upon a child under 14 and child annoyance. In addition he was charged with felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 for conduct with the 12 year old victim. There are also sentencing enhancements that Verduzco is facing for substantial sexual conduct with a child and lewd acts on multiple children. If convicted, he faces a possible 60 years to life in state prison.
He is accused of kissing her on the cheek between January and September and inappropriately touching her thigh.
Here, a violation of Penal Code section 288.7(b), Verduzco has one count which states that engaging in oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child under the age of 10 is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for a term of 15 years to life.
The other felony charges of committing lewd acts upon a child under 14 with multiple victims also carries a maximum punishment of imprisonment in the state prison of 15 years to life all consecutive to one another.
