An LAPD officer was charged this week in Federal Court with possessing child pornography. The officer’s son was also charged with the same. The officer had worked in that capacity for the LAPD for 22 years and had been suspended from duty since March of this year.

The charges were announced as part of an indictment by a Federal Grand Jury this week, although the LAPD officer and his son had previously turned themselves in on October 5, 2009. An LAPD union representative asserted this week that, “…Anyone who does anything that might endanger the welfare of a child has no place on the LAPD.”
