Orange County Equestrian Center Employee Arrested On Allegations Of Child Molestation

Officials at an Orange County equestrian center shocked to hear news that a fellow employee had been arrested on allegations of child molestation. The Coto Valley Equestrian Center is located in the upscale Orange County suburb of Coto De Caza.

David Montano, 45 years old, worked as a horse groomer at the center. Montano was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s department after being pulled over for an alleged traffic violation. The warrant from Northern California, are based on allegations of lewd acts with a minor stemming from 2008.

In California, lewd acts with a minor are a felony, and codified under California Penal Code Section 288, which states in pertinent part that a person is guilty of this offense for ‘lewd acts with a minor’ under the age of 14 years. The punishment for a conviction of California Penal Code Section 288 can include a prison sentence, and a lifetime requirement to register as a sexual offender.

Montano is currently being held at the Orange County Jail with bond set at $350, 000.
